Vision Statement
Bainfield Gardens aims to provide an environment where people who face the challenge of coping with varying degrees of mental illness can come to a Gardens where the environment itself creates healing.
This is done through teaching work-based skills in a gardening environment which has a Christian culture of encouragement and love towards each other.
In turn this adds back community and enjoyment into the consumers lives so that they will be able to transition back to the fullness of life.
Location of Gardens
Bainfield Gardens operates out of Donovan Park in Invercargill and Hokonui Runanga, Gore.
Who can attend Bainfield Gardens?
Consumers are referred to the Bainfield Gardens (or BOG as it is often affectionately referred to) through the Southland District Health Board and other agencies, including self referral.
Hours of Operation
Bainfield Gardens operates Monday to Friday 9 am - 3 pm.
Consumers are encourage to attend as many hours each day as they are able.
All of the produce is grown at our Invercargill and Gore sites and is sold to the local community.
History
Bainfield Gardens have been serving the community since 1999!
